CZARNECKI CONTRIBUTES TO BLUE RIBBON COMMISSION REPORT
BOCA RATON , Fla.-- Gerald Czarnecki, Chairman and CEO of the
Deltennium Group, contributed as a member of the Blue Ribbon
Commission on Board Leadership to the 2004 Blue Ribbon Commission
Report. The Blue Ribbon Commission (BRC) is organized and appointed
by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), an
independent not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving
the corporate governance needs of directors and boards.
Czarnecki's appointment to the Commission stems from his expertise
in corporate governance issues, as well as his professional role
as a consultant, speaker and author on the subject of leadership
at every level in an organization.
The BRC Report provides directors with the first profession-wide
clarification of exactly how specific board leadership roles
should be divided between the leaser of the independent directors
and the leader of the company. The 2004 edition addresses the
questions that are increasingly frequent among boards of directors
in the wake of the governance reforms: What is the recommended
model for independent board leadership? Who is the leader of
the board? What are the advantages of a lead director versus
a non-executive chairman?
"The Blue Ribbon Commission Report was put together after careful
research and thoughtful debate by some of the most highly-regarded
experts in corporate governance," said Czarencki. "The result
is a truly valuable resource for boards of directors."
Czarnecki's current professional activities include his role
at the Deltennium Group as consultant, investor, professional
speaker and author. Headquartered in Boca Raton , the Deltennium
Group engages in consulting, training, speaking, researching
and investing to further its mission of helping leaders and organizations
achieve peak performance.
Czarnecki is also a member of the boards of directors of State
Farm Insurance (where he serves as Chairman of the Audit Committee)
and State Farm Bank. He has a long-standing commitment to Junior
Achievement, and is currently on the Executive Committee and Chairman
of the Operations Committee, the Pension Committee and the Compensation
